Montrose Children’s Museum

Friday, May 2, 2pm-4pm

Ages 4-10, maybe older siblings.  Parents must stay with children

Hands-on weaving with meat tray looms.

Goal is to have children to have woven items to hang on the wall at the museum.

Saturday, May 10, 10am-4pm

Demonstrations in spinning, weaving dyeing, felting, basketry tatting, knitting, crocheting, small quilting projects

 

Montrose Library Children’s Arts

320 S. 2nd St, Montrose

Tuesday, June 3, 11am-12:30pm

Theme:  Color Your World

Three outdoor stations:  Carding, Spinning, Weaving demonstrations

Hands-on weaving at the end with tray looms

 

Ute Museum Children’s Summer Camp

17253 Chipeta Road, Montrose

Monday-Wednesday, June 9-11 and Friday, June 13, 91m-11:30 each day

Monday:  Demonstrate stages from fleece to finished project and carding. 

Students will tease and card washed wool.

Tuesday:  Spinning wool and dyeing wool with Kool-Aid

Wednesday:  Weaving mug rugs with tray looms.  Also, a rigid heddle loom and table loom children can weave on.

Friday:  Weaving with circular looms and continue weaving on the other looms.
